1. A method for improving vascular function in a subject, the method comprising administering to the subject an effective amount of an anti-CTGF agent, thereby improving vascular function in the subject.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the vascular function is microvascular function.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the vascular function is macrovascular function.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein the vascular function is associated with peripheral vasculature.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein the improving comprises reducing endothelium dysfunction..

6. The method of claim 1, wherein the improving comprises reducing arterial stiffness.

7. The method of claim 6, wherein the arterial stiffness is selected from the group consisting of axial arterial stiffness, radial arterial stiffness, and circumferential arterial stiffness.
