Various-type sports bat structure

USPTO Application #: 20070219026
Title: Various-type sports bat structure
Abstract: A various-type sports bat structure comprises a club-like sports bat for use of various games wherein the club-like sports bat is equipped with a core layer composed of multiple central elements that are securely glue-bound in matrix array or arrangement and are perpendicularly located adjacent to each other. The central elements are respectively made up of a plurality of bamboo pieces that are adhesively fastened together to form short-rectangular bar-like blocks or long-rectangular bar-like blocks thereby. Via the aforementioned structure, the core layer is equipped with high tenacity and densely bound together so that the sports bat can evenly bear the force exerted thereon and efficiently make use of the dynamic effect to absorb and transform the vibration generated at batting, achieving the best state of application thereby. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] The present invention relates to a various-type sports bat structure, comprising a club-like sports bat for use of various games wherein the club-like sports bat is equipped with a core layer composed of multiple central elements that are securely glue-bound in matrix array or arrangement and are perpendicularly located adjacent to each other; whereby, the core layer is equipped with high tenacity and densely bound together so that the sports bat can evenly bear the force exerted thereon and efficiently make use of the dynamic effect to absorb and transform the vibration generated at batting, achieving the best state of application thereby.

[0002] Please refer to FIG. 1. A conventional sports bat structure includes a sports bat 10 made up of a core layer 11 and an enveloping layer 12 wherein the core layer 11 is composed of a plurality of bamboo pieces 111 arranged in pairs and fastened to each other or a plurality of bamboo plates 111' vertically arranged and fastened to each other as shown in FIG. 2. The enveloping layer 12 is made up of a plurality of bamboo blocks 121 that are glued to one another before bound vertically to attach onto the core layer 11 thereof. Then, the sports bat 10 is further processed into the form of a baseball bat having a batting section and a grip section disposed thereon.

[0003] There are some drawbacks to the above mentioned conventional sports bat structure. First, the core layer 11 is fastened together in a single direction. To exert the best performance thereof, a batter must pay special attention to the position of batting, which can distract the batter and make him fail to hit a pitched ball all-around as desired. Second, the core layer 11 cannot efficiently bear the extra force of impact and, thus, features a poor resistance to vibration, which can cause damages to the batter and make the grip section of the baseball bat easy to break in application thereof.

SUMMARY OF THE PRESENT INVENTION

[0004] It is, therefore, the primary purpose of the present invention to provide a various-type sports bat structure, especially a club-like sports bat for use of various games wherein the club-like sports bat has a core layer composed of multiple central elements that are vertically or horizontally arranged and densely glue-bound in matrix array with each located perpendicularly adjacent to the other, permitting the core layer to form with high tenacity so that the sports bat can evenly bear the force exerted thereon and efficiently make use of the dynamic effect to absorb and transform the vibration generated at batting so as to reinforce the overall anti-vibration capability of the sports bat and protect a batter thereby. Besides, the sports bat is provided with a grip portion strengthened with better resistance in the exertion of force to avoid the danger of breakage thereof, achieving the best state of application thereby.

[0016] FIG. 12 is an assembled perspective view of another embodiment of the present invention.

[0017] FIG. 13 is an assembled perspective view of a third embodiment of the present invention.

[0018] FIG. 14 is another assembled perspective view of the third embodiment of the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0019] Please refer to FIG. 3 showing a fragmentary assembled and perspective view of the present invention (accompanied by FIG. 4). The present invention relates to a various-type sports bat structure, comprising a sports bat 20 for use of various games such as a baseball bat 201, a billiards cue 202 as shown in FIG. 12, or a croquet mallet 203 as shown in FIGS. 13, 14 wherein the club-like sports bat 20 is equipped with a core layer 21 composed of multiple square-shaped central elements 211 that are glue-bound together in matrix array and located perpendicularly adjacent to each other. Besides, the central elements 211 as shown in FIG. 5 can be augmented horizontally or vertically in rows or columns and glue-bound together in matrix array with each perpendicularly adjacent to the other thereof. Furthermore, each of the central elements is made up of a plurality of bamboo pieces 2111 that are adhesively fastened together to form a short-rectangular bar-like block thereby.

[0020] In assembly, the core layer 21 can be directly processed and manufactured into a core stick for use of a billiards cue 202 as shown in FIG. 12, or a croquet mallet 203 as shown in FIG. 13, and the core stick can have an appropriate layer of protective sheath bound at the circumferential surface thereon so that, via the effect of the dynamics thereof, the core stick thereof can form a better hitting portion 23 and maintain the stability of a grip portion 24 disposed thereon. Furthermore, multiple bamboo pieces 2211 can be adhesively fastened together to provide an appropriate layer of force-exerted elements 221 that are vertically glue-bound to adhere onto the circumferential surface of the core layer 21 and form an enveloping layer 22 thereon. And the sports bat 20 with the core layer 21 and the enveloping layer 22 is further processed and manufactured into a baseball bat 201 or a croquet mallet 203 with a hitting portion 23 and a grip portion 24 disposed thereon respectively wherein the grip portion 24 as shown in FIG. 6 is equipped with the structure of the core layer 21, while the other section of the sports bat 20 is composed of the enveloping layer 22 adhesively bound with the core layer 21 thereof as shown in FIGS. 6, 14. Therefore, the sports bat 20 can offer a better hitting portion 23 and efficiently make use of the dynamic effect to transform the force exerted thereon so as to further reinforce its strength and maintain the stability of the grip portion 24 thereby. In addition, the baseball bat 201 as shown in FIG. 7 can be flexibly manufactured to cater to the demands of different weight standards. In case of a demand for a reduced weight thereof, the sports bat 20 can have a weight-diminishing groove 25 indented at a preset position thereon so as to fit to the standard required in application.
