Abstract: A tyre placement and filling apparatus (10) includes a receptacle for loose material 11. Movable legs (41) are adapted so that they couple to opposing sidewalls of a tyre. There is a movable leg assembly (12) which moves the legs to expand a tyre engaged therewith, and a forcing unit (13) is operable to cause the loose material from the materials hopper (11) to transferred to, and be compacted within the tyre. (end of abstract)
