Brief Patent Description - Full Patent Description - Patent Application Claims BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION [0001] The present invention is related to a treadmill in which two brackets are pivotally connected between each of the tread boards and the base seat. Therefore, a forward travel is achieved when treading the tread boards. This enables a user to use the treadmill just like the user naturally steps forward. [0002] FIG. 5 shows a conventional treadmill including a substantially I-shaped base seat 71, a column 72 upward extending from a front end of the base seat 71 and two tread boards 73 respectively pivotally connected with two lateral sides of the column 72. A bottom side of each tread board 73 is connected to a front base beam 711 of the base seat 71 via an oil cylinder 74. A user can tread the tread boards 73 to exercise. In addition, a coupler 75 is mounted on the column 72 between the two tread boards 73, whereby the two tread boards 73 can repeatedly circularly operate. The coupler 75 is controllable by an adjustment unit 76. [0003] Referring to FIG. 6, the tread boards 73 of the conventional treadmill can only swing up and down. Therefore, a user's feet can simply mark time without marching. Under such circumstance, the knees of the user's legs 77 will bear great compression and tend to get hurt. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION [0004] It is therefore a primary object of the present invention to provide a treadmill in which two brackets are pivotally connected between each of the tread boards and the base seat. Therefore, a forward travel is achieved when treading the tread boards. Accordingly, a user can use the treadmill just like the user naturally steps forward. Also, the compression exerted onto the user's knees is reduced. [0005] According to the above object, the treadmill of the present invention includes: abase seat, a first bracket and a second bracket being respectively pivotally mounted on each of two lateral sides of a front section of the base seat, a damper being disposed between a middle section of each second bracket and a rear end of the base seat; and two tread boards, top ends of the first brackets being respectively pivotally connected under front ends of the tread boards, top ends of the second brackets being respectively pivotally connected under middle sections of the tread boards. [0006] The present invention can be best understood through the following description and accompanying drawings wherein: BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS [0007] FIG. 1 is a perspective exploded view of the present invention; [0008] FIG. 2 is a top view of the present invention; [0009] FIG. 3 is a side view of the present invention, showing the use thereof in a first state; [0010] FIG. 4 is a side view of the present invention, showing the use thereof in a second state; [0011] FIG. 5 is a perspective view of a conventional treadmill; and [0012] FIG. 6 is a side view of the conventional treadmill, showing the use thereof. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT [0013] Please refer to FIGS. 1 and 2. The treadmill of the present invention includes a substantially I-shaped base seat 1 having a front beam 11, a rear beam 13 and a connecting beam 12 connected between the front and rear beams 11, 13. [0014] Respectively via a first shaft 23 and a second shaft 24, a first bracket 21 and a second bracket 22 are pivotally mounted on each of two lateral sides of a front section of the connecting beam 12 of the base seat 1. A damper 3 is disposed between a middle section of each second bracket 22 and the rear beam 13 of the base seat 1. In this embodiment, the damper 3 includes a pneumatic cylinder 31 having an extensible piston rod 32. One end of the pneumatic cylinder 31 is pivotally connected with the rear beam 13 of the base seat 1. One end of the piston rod 32 is pivotally connected with the middle section of the second bracket 22 via a shaft member 33. [0015] A column 4 upward extends from a middle section of the front beam 11. The column 4 has a guide wheel 41 on which a guide cord 42 is wound. Two ends of the guide cord 42 are respectively fixed on the middle sections of the second brackets 22. The guide wheel 41 is controllable by an adjustment member 43. [0016] The treadmill of the present invention further includes two tread boards 51. A support bar 52 is disposed under each tread board 51. The top ends of the first brackets 21 are respectively pivotally connected under front ends of the support bars 52 via two first pins 53. The top ends of the second brackets 22 are respectively pivotally connected under middle sections of the support bars 52 via two second pins 54. [0017] Referring to FIGS. 3 and 4, when a user's feet 6 tread the tread boards 51, the downward applied force will make one of the tread boards 51 obliquely move toward the rear beam 13 to reach a lowest end of the travel. On the other hand, the other tread board 51 is guided by the guide cord 42 wound on the guide wheel 41 to obliquely move toward the front beam 11 and reach a highest end of the travel. Accordingly, the two tread boards 51 can continuously move and march as the user's feet 6 naturally step forward. Therefore, the compression exerted onto the user's knees is reduced and the user can exercise more. In addition, by means of screwing or unscrewing the adjustment member 43, the position of the guide wheel 41 can be adjusted to change the force necessary for treading down the tread boards 51. The guide cord 42 of the guide wheel 41 serves to guide the tread boards 51 to repeatedly circularly operate for achieving exercising effect to different extents. [0018] According to the above arrangement, the brackets are pivotally connected between the tread boards and the base seat to achieve a forward travel when treading the tread boards. Accordingly, a user can use the treadmill just like the user naturally steps forward. Also, the compression exerted onto the user's knees is reduced. [0019] The above embodiment is only used to illustrate the present invention, not intended to limit the scope thereof. Many modifications of the above embodiment can be made without departing from the spirit of the present invention. Continue reading about Treadmill...
