Brief Patent Description - Full Patent Description - Patent Application Claims BRIEF BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION [0001]As any one in the marine industries would know, or the common boater would know the turning radius of the stern drive motor or out board motor is very limited at best. And what I have invented is a way for the stern drive propulsion system and the out board motor propulsion system to be able to rotate a full 360 degrees at any speed or angel, and not loose any of the normal functions as one would expect from the stern drive motors or the out board motors units them selves. [0002]Furthermore I have installed safety features that would prevent and reduce the damage that would happen if the stern drive motor or the out board motor would hit a solid object or a person and even a manatees, or whales or other living things, they are well known for being hit or even killed from boaters that don't have the automatic protection censors to alert the operators and to help prevent an accident from happening. [0003]Also the many other advantages are that when the boater is in a very tight area and turning around to get a dock space or to get out of the way of another boater, that is coming to close to you, all the boater would have to do is to push the lever control stick or joy stick, and steer the boat in any direction she or he would like, know matter how tight of and area is for your boat, for a full and safe turning radius in any direction at any time you would like, and always in complete safety. Also the boater has the choice of either driving the boat in the normal way, using the steering wheel, or using the control lever or joy stick for the rotating stern drive motor driving system or the out board motor driving system, 360 degrees in any direction at any time. [0004]There's also the added function of the main wing or wings along with the fins, that are located at the end of the main wing. This main wing will help the boater get on plain faster and if the operator would like to get above the rough or choppy waters, they have the complete control at the operators control station, all they would have to do is to adjust the main wing or wings and fin or fins to get air born and now you are riding above the rough water on a smooth pocket of air, and you can control this system automatically from the control panel on the boats dash board or manual, the choose is yours along. 23 Claims [0005]1) This is the first kind ever, fully rotating 360 degrees stern drive motor or out board motor propulsion drive and steering system with vertical and horizontal lift, and on any angel, with out any inconveniences what so ever, because now the stern drive motor or out board motor can rotate 360 degrees with out any problems from the drive systems, and this system will also help prevent accidents along with the automatic censors that are on the stern drive motor units and the out board motor units, that react when they sense danger at any time automatically, this is accomplish by a computer chip that can identify millions of objects, hundreds of feet away in less then a split second and determine if the object is dangerous to the stern drive motor or the out board motor and to take the proper precautions so there is no damage or no one harmed in the event of an accident, this system will give the boat operator the much needed time to make a correct decision, because they are warned well in advance of any possible danger. [0006]2) The stern drive motor or the out board motor will be able to lift and go up or down as needed, and on an angle, with out any inconveniences what so ever, because now the stern drive motor or outboard motor can rotate 360 degrees with out any problems from the drive systems, your now able to turn in very tight areas, docking spaces, fuel spaces, etc, now that the steering system is able to rotate 360 degrees, by the joy stick and or switch, the operator doesn't have to rely on the old and clumsy steering, that's already on the boat This new lower unit driving system, that can rotate 360 degrees, can easily be attache to existing units make or models, and years. [0007]3) Any one in the marine industries or the average boater will right away appreciate the extra advantage in the fully rotating stern drive motor steering system or out board motor steering system, that can rotate 360 degrees with no effort at all. [0008]4) There is now a dual steering system, the stern drive and the out board steering system has always been steered by the steering wheel that is located on the dash board of the boat, and because there is now a fully rotating stern drive steering, along with the fully rotating out board motor steering system, the operator has the choice of using the existing steering wheel that is already on the boats dash board, or the joy stick lever to steer the boat, and since you now have two total separate steering units, your boat is even more safer to use, further more the two steering units are totally separate from one another, so if one steering system breaks down, you always have a back steering system. [0009]5) There's safety automatic censor circuits built right in, to help prevent accidents, there's a warning light and or a buzzer or a horn, on the dash board where the operators sits and there's a light and or a buzzer or a horn at the bow or stern section of the boat, and the stern drive units or the out board motors as well, that has a warning light out side the boat, that clearly tells the occupants in the boat and in the water, as a water skier, water tuber or just a swimmer would need to know if the boats motor is running and the propeller blades are moving or not, this along safety system will save thousands of lives and injuries alone, and yet the cost will be minimal, to in stall at the factory or just a little more a on existing boats, also the special computer chip will not be affected or fooled by the warmth of the body heat, or the sunlight and the darkness of the clouds or by the weather and the water movement, this computer chip as stated in claim 1, can identify millions of objects in less then a split second to determine if the object will harm the stern drive motor or the out board motor and if so what kind of possible damage this object may cause, or will harm be brought to a human or some other living things. [0010]6) In the event that the stern drive motor propulsion drive steering system or the out board motor propulsion drive steering system is involved in an accident, the safety system will be alerted in a split second, just be for the impact, the propeller blades that are on the stern drive motor unit or the out board motor unit will stop right away and so will the motor, and at the same time the stern drive unit or the out board unit will lift out of the water as the boat will continue to travel, so there wont be any damage to the propeller blades or any part on the drive units them selves, and no sunned stopping, that in it self could cause harm to any one that is in the boat, they could be thrown about with in the boat or be thrown over board and in to the water, and if the object was a human or a manatees or something else they would less likely to be harmed or killed, simply because of the many built in safety features that try to prevent accidents and damage before it happens. [0011]7) There's a permanent wing, with small fins on the end of the wing, that are on the rotating stern drive motor drive proposition steering system unit or out board motor drive proposition steering system unit, there could very easily be more then one wing or fin that are located on the unit them selves. [0012]8) The wing, or wings that are mounted on the drive units, are automatically powered from with in the boat, this wing section will help the boat get up and on plain faster and easer these wings have flexibility and movement, they are also able to change there pitch, furthermore the design and the area of the wing or wings and fins are so much different in size, style, shape and performance, there is no comparison what so ever, this automatic system will simply help and get the boat up much easer and faster on top of the water, automatically sensing the boats weight, speed wind conditions and much more for a much smoother ride and a more fuel efficient ride as well as a safer ride. [0013]9) The use of the wing or the wings on the rotating stern drive motor proposition steering system or the out board motor drive motor proposition steering system not only will this specially design, help the boat get up and stay on plain, but will also get the boat to fly above the water, and just float through the air, with only the stern drive motor proposition drive steering system or the out board motor proposition drive steering system in the water, and the wing as well as the fins are keeping the boat above the water, this will also help the boater avoid rough waters and the constant bouncing around on top of the water, can stay above the water as long as the operator wants to, for a very smooth and enjoyable ride, and when the operator wants to go back down to the water, all they would have to do is to slow down and just glide back down on to the surface of the water. [0014]10) The advantages to change the pre existing out dated, stern drive motor drive systems, and the out board motor drive systems, would improve the performance many times over, and the fun, or safety of the occupants would for ever be change for life, they would no longer go back to the old out dated power drive and steering systems ever again, the stern drive systems and out board motor systems as we know them now, are going the way of the dinosaur. [0015]11) There's a universal adaptor you can put on and in stall between the existing upper unit and lower unit, this adaptor will make your stern drive motor or out board motor rotate 360 degrees, and is easy to installed and connect to the existing power supply and hydraulics unit, the rotating plate seal adaptor that will rotate 360 degrees will easily fit between the upper and lower unit. [0016]12) This new steering system, wing system and power drive system will also give the operator more control, freedom and fun like they have never had before, furthermore because of the special design, the performance will be better and the fuel consumption will be less. [0017]13) There's a protection shield, that clearly states danger area, that is extended beyond the propeller area, this will keep people from coming in contact with in the danger area of the propeller blade its self, but will also keep from being damaged from other boats, debris or backing up among other dangers that are present but not mention, this system will be sounding off with a warning buzzer, or some other loud sounding device. [0018]14) There can also be just the lower unit that already has the fully 360 degree rotating shield on, so all you would have to do is to remove the damage or out dated lower unit, and now just connect to the existing upper unit, along with the power source, and your now complete. [0019]15) The turning radius is not limited to the 360 degrees rotation, that's horizontal all the time and the vertical or horizontal lifting, but can also swivel on bearings or fluids or any other holding parts, for an angle turning radius, such as an example, the stern drive steering system would be turning at a 45 degrees vertical and 45 degrees horizontal just to mention and show of one of many examples, by using this turning system the driver can make much sharper turns then ever before because the stern drive motor proposition steering system unit and propeller blades are never in danger of going out of the water or cavitations out of water, and out board steering motor proposition steering system unit and propeller blades system unit is now turning at an angle, so the boat and the stern drive motor proposition steering system unit or the out board motor proposition steering system unit is now turning together as one unit, on the turning angle, and by doing this, your not loosing any of the water between the propeller blades. [0020]16) The wing or the wings that are on the rotating stern drive motor steering system, or the out board motor steering system along with the fin or fins at the end of the wings that are movable and flexible, this system has an automatic controlled censors or controlled from the operators station, manually, the choice is up to the operator, will help the boat or other vessel get up on plain a lot faster, and if the operator wants to, they can also get air born and fly above the rough water or choppy water for a smooth and more thrilling ride for as long as they want the feeling of true flight and excitement. [0021]17) The operator has much more control using the angel steering system, so there is less likely to become in an accident because of the added control. [0022]18) The stern drive motor or the out board motor, upper unit and lower unit can extended or contract automatically as the water level may become shallow or deep or if there is an object in the water, the censors will automatically pick up danger and tell the lower unit to go up in to the upper unit, until the danger has pasted and the operator has one less thing to worry about, this safety system is always completely automatic and the drive shaft axels will go up and down, automatically as the upper unit drive axel shaft will go in to the lower drive shaft axel automatically at the same time as the two units moves up or down together the two work at the same time. [0023]19) The advantages of the upper unit and the lower unit to contract or extended automatically with theses specials built in automatic safety censors and vertical pistons will help the out side horizontal pistons and increase the safety as the stern drive unit or out board unit will be able to protect its self at all times and conditions, and this will make boating a lot safer for the operator. [0024]20) Another advantage of the upper and lower units that they can bend, at the same time the operator would turn, this would keep at all time the propeller blade in the water as the turning radius would follow the turn, and there wouldn't be any water cavitations or loss of steering or speed because the propeller blade will all ways be in the water. [0025]21) On the rear of the stern drive motor lower unit or the out board motor lower unit, there is a vertical and a horizontal guard, that also helps to support the main wing, further more there are censors build right in to the vertical and horizontal guards In case there is an impact against the guard, and if that happens, the censors will stop the propeller blade and the motor to help prevent damage to the lower unit or the entire drive system, and also this will help prevent harm to humans, manatees, whales or other living things. [0026]22) The sensors unit computer chips can be in stalled by a simple boot attachment or some other simple attachment, on to existing stern drive motor units or the out board motor units as well, and furthermore this simple device can also be installed on fix horizontal propeller drive shafts but not limited to, any one in the marine field would easily see and understand clearly how effective this system is. [0027]23) This is the only protective automatic safety system that you will be able to be installed on pre-existing stern drive motors, out board motors, or fix drive systems, that will increase there use fullness and be more effective then there pre existing systems, that are very limited at best, and when looking at there designs over the years, there really hasn't been to much of a change especially in safety. This will also help the boater in being more safe, and be able to detect danger, this computer chip that can recognized millions of different objects in less then a second, or less, and will take evasive actions it self automatically this will give the boat operator, hundreds of feet in advance notice to take the proper actions to avoid an accident, and in boating time that is a lot of advance warning for any boater any where going full speed ahead, just on top of the water, if not just skimming or flying on top of the water it self, automatically as the safety censors will be one more of a safety factor for the boater and passengers, they will come to appreciate more, as this system is in more use, and easy to use, the boating insurance company's will recognized just how much this simple device is saving in claims alone, and later will lower any boat that has this automatic safety device in stalled, and some day will be required on all new boats being built, just as air bag have been required to be installed on all cars thought the world.
