The method includes receiving a request for a content of a computer-readable file. The method also includes searching the computer-readable file for the requested content, the computer-readable file including at least one representation of a hand-formed mark distributed to the computer-readable file in response to a machine-distinguishable tag associated with the hand-formed mark. The machine-distinguishable tag being selected from at least two machine-distinguishable tags. The method further includes outputting the at least one representation of a hand-formed mark. In addition to the foregoing, other method embodiments are described in the claims, drawings, and text forming a part of the present application. [0009] Another embodiment provides a computer program product. The computer program product includes program instructions operable to perform a process in a computer system. The process includes receiving a request for information saved in a computer-readable file, the computer-readable file including at least one representation of a hand-formed mark distributed to the computer-readable file in response to a machine-distinguishable tag associated with the hand-formed mark, the machine-distinguishable tag selected from at least two machine-distinguishable tags. The process also includes searching the computer-readable file for the requested information, and outputting the at least one representation of a hand-formed mark. The computer program product also includes a computer-readable signal-bearing medium bearing the program instructions. In addition to the foregoing, other computer program product embodiments are described in the claims, drawings, and text forming a part of the present application. [0010] A further embodiment provides an apparatus. The apparatus includes a computing device having a computer storage medium and a list manager program. The apparatus includes a data recipient file saved on the computer storage medium and including at least one representation of a hand-formed mark received by the data recipient file in response to a machine-distinguishable tag associated with a hand-formed mark, the machine-distinguishable tag selected from at least two machine-distinguishable tags. The list manager program includes instructions operable to perform a process in the computing device. The process includes receiving a request for a content of the data recipient file, and searching the computer storage medium for the requested content of the data recipient file. The process also includes outputting the at least one representation of a hand-formed mark. The device includes a means for receiving a request for a content of a computer-readable file.
