The Patent Description & Claims data below is from USPTO Patent Application 20080015023. Brief Patent Description - Full Patent Description - Patent Application Claims RELATED APPLICATIONS [0001] The present application is a continuation in part of U.S. patent application Ser. No. 09/765,165, filed Jan. 18, 2001, entitled, "METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SECURING A COMPUTER-BASED GAME OF CHANCE", which is a continuation of U.S. Pat. No. 6,203,427, filed July 3, 1997, entitled "METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SECURING A COMPUTER-BASED GAME OF CHANCE". BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION [0002] An example of an entertainment/gambling device is the "punchboard." A punchboard consists of a board with a square grid of holes. Each hole contains a small rolled-up piece of paper. The player takes a pin and pushes through the board, pushing a selected piece of paper through the other side. This paper is then unrolled by the player to reveal whether or not he has won a prize. In a typical punchboard game, a player pays a small sum (approximately $1) to make a selection; prizes are determined by the size of the board and the fees, and may run hundreds of dollars. While a player may have faith in a punchboard game played with physical paper and a board, a player may have less faith in an equivalent game played electronically, such as over a network.
