Krutch putterKrutch putter description/claimsThe Patent Description & Claims data below is from USPTO Patent Application 20080194352, Krutch putter. Brief Patent Description - Full Patent Description - Patent Application Claims 1. Field of the Invention The present invention relates to a new and improved golf putter. The putter is designed to allow putting the ball while facing the hole. In particular, the invention relates to the gripper, shaft, and golf head design that allow for putting in this out of the standard way. 2. Description of the Prior Art Golf as a sport has increased tremendously in popularity due to the ever increasing number of golf courses and can be a fun game to play at any level of expertise. There are many aspects to the game, but, the single most important club used is the putter. Designing a better putter that is easier to use then is a key to improving ones game. The ability to putt well can take many strokes off ones score and move someone from a good golfer to an excellent golfer. The traditional putting method is to hold a putter with two hands and your feet are perpendicular to the line of travel of the ball. Normally if you are right handed you are also right eye dominate when sighting. When sighting the ball before a putt your dominant eye is normally the trailing eye. This is a disadvantage when putting. The proposed design devised Aug. 15th 2006, the goal of this new design putter is to incorporate scientific theories that will help the golfer to lower his scores and increase his enjoyment of the game of golf. This putter uses three new and unique techniques to enable the golfer to better align and judge the speed or distance of a putt. The first is based on Dominant Eye theory. One eye is dominant in sighting objects and alignment of objects. In the traditional putting stance the golfer is disadvantaged because his dominant eye is his trailing eye. By standing facing the hole, the golfer takes full advantage of his dominant eye and is better able to see the proper line of the putt. The second is perspective or depth perception theory. In order to fully gauge depth or distance a person needs both eyes. Once again in the traditional putting stance the golfer is disadvantaged by head position and eye position. Finally since the golfer is facing the hole, the sighting picture remains constant. This is a huge advantage for golfers at every level. The method of holding this putter enables the golfer to reduce or eliminate adverse and unnecessary movements that could cause the putt to track offline and/or at the incorrect pace or speed. The golfer who uses a traditional putting stance is constantly adjusting his mental picture of the line and distance or speed of the putt. When the putt is delivered it is almost a guess from memory regarding the direction and force of the putt. He lines up behind the putt and picks a spot to start the ball at and takes a mental picture of that line and how hard he needs to hit the putt to get it to the hole. He then addresses the ball and again looks at the line and back to the ball and again at the line to pick that same spot and remember the speed. All these adjustments to the stroke are potentially negative when it comes time to deliver the stroke. To improve golf putting the golfer should position the head so that the dominant eye has an unobstructed and aligned view of the ball and the hole. This is not possible with the traditional putting method, this design facilitates this recommendation. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONThe present invention is an innovative new putter, the putter features a long straight shaft that can be adjusted to the users height. The angle of entry of the shaft to the club head allows for a comfortable distance from the ball to sight and complete the putt. The putter head has an impact surface that allows for different materials with varying hardness levels, and has weights that can be inserted or removed to customize the head for the individuals preference. The head is face balanced and has a radius on the bottom to allow for varying ball elevation in relation to the golfer. The shape of the head reduces twist by placing weights extended from the stroke line. The grip is designed to comply with golf regulations and provide maximum comfort and stability. The present invention essentially allows a golfer to change the way they golf to better sight and perform a putt to minimize their score and maximize ones enjoyment of the game. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGSThe drawings constitute a part of the specification and include general embodiments of the present invention, including the following; FIG. 1 is the top view of the putting head. FIG. 2 is a side view of the putting head face. FIG. 3 is a side view of the putter. FIG. 4 is a view of how the shaft fits into the head. Continue reading about Krutch putter...
