Golf putting game with a uniquely shaped putting cupGolf putting game with a uniquely shaped putting cup description/claimsThe Patent Description & Claims data below is from USPTO Patent Application 20080026862, Golf putting game with a uniquely shaped putting cup. Brief Patent Description - Full Patent Description - Patent Application Claims BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION [0001]I. Field of the Invention [0002]The present invention is related to a golf putting game with a uniquely shaped putting cup. The invention is a putting game of skill whereas a player or players will in turn putt towards a randomly placed unique putting cup from one of the five randomly placed hole location markers trying to achieve the highest score according to the rule of play. [0003]II. Description of Prior Art [0004]As is known, there are other golf putting games and putting practicing devices in prior art that enable one to practice and enjoy the aspect of putting without actually being on a putting green. With that being said, golf putting devices and games do exist in golf related inventions, but none seems to be comprised of a realistic half putting cup, placed on its side, as the intended receiver of a golf ball. Combine that with a randomly placed nine hole course set prior to each game as where no two games would ever be exactly the same. Include a unique scoring system that goes against general golf logic, whereas the high score, not the low, wins. A scoring pad with columns for a player or players names, score per hole, total score for the game and the distance between the hole location markers and the putting cup enables said player or players to record their score if they choose to do so. [0005]In these respects, the half putting cup game invention substantial difference from other designs and concepts of prior art, and provides a game of thrill and skill for most ages and interests. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS [0006]FIG. 1 is a perspective view of the putting game being played [0007]FIG. 2 is an angled front view of the golf putting cup [0008]FIG. 3 is an angled back view of the golf putting cup [0009]FIG. 4 is a side view of the golf putting cup, respectively both being the same [0010]FIG. 5 are the hole location markers, five (5) total [0011]FIG. 6 is the scoring sheet SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION [0012]The invention is a golf putting game comprising a uniquely shaped putting cup that players will putt towards on a floor surface from randomly placed hole location markers and receive points according to the rules of play, then record their score on an included scoring pad. The unique shape of the putting cup, 6'' long by one half the circumference of 4.25'' closely resembling the shape of a half circle, a regulation golf putting cup is 6'' by 4.25'' in diameter, challenges the player or players every time a putt is attempted. The putting cup opening that will receive the ball will resemble a half circle when the putting cup is laid on a floor like surface. As with a real regulation golf putting cup, one end of the cup accepts the ball and the other is submerged into a golf putting green so is true with this putting cup, one end accepts the ball, the other end does not because of its unique structure. The putting cup set up will be placed with the ball accepting end towards the player or players. The putting cup will be randomly placed on the floor at the discretion of the player or players prior to the game. [0013]The game includes five (5) hole location markers that a player or players will putt from towards the putting cup. The hole location markers, comprising of a coaster like material, will be approximately 4'' in diameter by 1/16'' thick and be place randomly on the floor like surface prior to the beginning of the game. The random locations of the hole location markers is at the discretion of the player or players prior to the beginning of the game. Four of the hole location marker will be printed with a series of holes as follows, Holes 1/4 one marker, holes 2/5 another marker, holes 3/6 another marker and holes 4/8 on another marker. Only the 9.sup.th hole location marker will be a individual hole. [0014]The game also includes Rules of Play and a scoring pad enabling a player or players to record their score. The Rules of Play will also outline how the game is set up, putting cup, hole location markers, and how many points the player or players receive for certain putts. The games final components are a golf ball and a pencil. [0015]As any golfer would know, no two putts are ever the same and that is among one of the objects of the present invention is trying to establish. All hole location markers will be placed on the floor prior to the game, at the discretion of the player or players, enabling the game unlimited variation in the in the games format. Presenting a challenge golfers are looking for in this inventive game. [0016]Another object of the game is the ability to play the game almost anywhere, at home, at the office, on vacation and so on because of its relatively compact size, approximately 7'' by 4'' by 4'' in its box and weighing approximately 2 lbs. [0017]Yet another object of the invention is the appeal to a wide age group, 5 years and older approximately, because of the simply rules of play, ease of set up, and easy to follow scoring method. [0018]Yet another object of the invention is an excellent practice tool for any golfer interested in improving his or her putting skills due to the putting cup unique shape. Any player will see it takes just the right stroke, speed and direction, to get the ball to stay inside the putting cup, therefore closely simulating a real putting experience. The order in which the players start is at their discretion as well, but should be written on the scoring sheet FIG. 6 prior to the start of play in the order chosen by the players. The hole location markers 2 are all marked with corresponding holes, as shown in FIG. 5 guiding the player or players as to which hole to start the game and as to which hole to end said game. The player or players will stand approximately 12'' from each of the hole location markers 2 when it's their turn to putt at the golf putting cup 1.
