BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] 1. Field of the Invention

[0002] The present invention relates to a gas burner, and more particularly to a gas burner having multiple holes defined at an angle relative to a surface.

[0003] 2. Description of Related Art

[0004] A conventional gas burner normally is composed of a core with multiple first holes and a hollow disk surrounding the core and having multiple second holes. When the gas burner is connected to a gas tank via a tube, flames emerge from the first holes of the core and the second holes of the hollow disk. When the conventional gas burner is in use, the flames from the first and the second holes influence each other. That is, with reference to FIG. 8, because the first and second holes are of the same dimension and perpendicular to a surface, superposition between adjacent flames causes the burning effect to be diminished.

[0005] To overcome the shortcomings, the present invention tends to provide an improved gas burner to mitigate the aforementioned problems.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0006] The primary objective of the present invention is to provide an improved gas burner having a hollow disk with multiple holes inclined relative to a longitudinal axis of the hollow disk such that influence between adjacent flames is reduced and thus the burning effect is increased.

[0007] Another objective of the present invention is that the holes of the hollow disk are defined in such a way that they are not perpendicular to a surface such that a vortex effect is generated when the gas burner is lit.

[0008] Other objects, advantages and novel features of the invention will become more apparent from the following detailed description when taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0009] FIG. 1 is an exploded perspective view of the present invention;

[0010] FIG. 2 is a cross sectional view of the hollow disk of the present invention;

[0011] FIG. 3 is a cross sectional view of a portion of the hollow disk of the present invention;

[0012] FIG. 4 is a top view showing the assembly of the hollow disk and the core of the present invention;

[0013] FIG. 5 is a cross sectional view taken from the line 5-5 in FIG. 4;

[0014] FIG. 6 is a perspective view showing a different embodiment of the hollow disk of the present invention;

[0015] FIG. 7 is a cross sectional view of the hollow disk shown in FIG. 6; and

[0016] FIG. 8 is a schematic view showing the flames emitted from the holes of the hollow disk of the conventional gas burner.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

[0017] With reference to FIGS. 1 and 2, the gas burner in accordance with the present invention includes a core (1) and a hollow disk (2). The core (1) is positioned in the center of the hollow disk (2). The core (1) has multiple apertures (not numbered) defined in a top face of the core (1).

[0018] The hollow disk (2) has multiple holes (221) inclined relative to a longitudinal axis of the hollow disk, preferably at 30 degrees and to a horizontal axis of the hollow disk, preferably at 40 degrees. With such an arrangement, a vortex effect out of the burning flames is thus generated and thus the burning effect is increased.

[0019] With reference to FIG. 3, it is noted that a net (222) is provided to be positioned on the outer wall defining each of the holes (221) such that danger caused by the flame being too far away from the holes (221) when the gas volume is too large is avoided.

[0020] With reference to FIGS. 4 and 5, when the core (1) and the hollow disk (2) are assembled, the core (1) is located at the center of the hollow disk (2). Due to the vortex of the flame from the inclined holes (221) and the through holes (11) in the core (1), the burning effect of the gas burner of the present invention is increased.
