FIELD OF THE INVENTION

[0001] The present invention relates to a drain assembly which is easily to be installed and trash is not trapped in the drain assembly.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0002] A conventional drain assembly 1 is shown in FIG. 1 and generally includes a cup 11, a seal 12, an urging ring 13, a positioning plate 14, a connector 15 and a filtering seal device. The cup 11 includes a flange 111 so as to be connected to a top surface of the sink 4 and an extension tube 112 extends from an underside of the cup 11. The extension tube 112 includes an outer threaded periphery 113 such that the seal 12 and the urging ring 13 are respectively connected to the outer periphery of the cup 11 from an underside of the cup 11. The positioning plate 14 includes a hole through which the extension tube 112 extends and a plurality of bolts 141 connected to the positioning plate 14 so as to be in contact with the urging ring 13. The connector 15 is connected to the sewage pipe (not shown) and the extension tube 112. A positioning ring 151 is connected to the connector 15 to positioning the sewage pipe. The filtering seal device includes a basket 161, a rubber seal 162, a pull section 163 and a rod 164. The rubber seal 162 is connected to an underside of the basket 161 and fixed to the rod 164 on which the pull section 163 is connected. When installing the drain assembly 1, the positioning plate 14 has to be fixed to a proper position of the extension tube 112 and the bolts 141 are then rotated to contact against the urging ring 13 such that the drain assembly 1 is fixed to the sink 4. However, it is in convenient for the installers to operate when installing the positioning plate 14.

[0003] As shown in FIG. 2, another drain assembly 2 includes a cup 21, a seal 22, an urging ring 23, a positioning plate 24, a connector 25 and a filtering seal device 26. The cup 21 includes a flange 211 so as to be connected to a top surface of the sink and an extension tube 212 extends from an underside of the cup 21. The extension tube 212 includes an outer threaded periphery 213 and the cup 21 includes a plurality of recesses 214 defined in an inner periphery thereof so as to define protrusions on the outer periphery of the cup 21. The seal 22 and the urging ring 23 are respectively connected to the outer periphery of the cup 21 from an underside of the cup 21. The positioning plate 24 includes a hole through which the extension tube 212 extends and a plurality of notches 241 are defined in an inner periphery or the positioning plate 24 and the notches 241 are located in correspondence with the protrusions on the cup 21. A plurality of bolts 242 are connected to the positioning plate 14 so as to be in contact with the urging ring 23. The connector 25 is connected to the sewage pipe (not shown) and the extension tube 212. A positioning ring 251 is connected to the connector 25 to positioning the sewage pipe. The filtering seal device 26 includes a basket 261, a rubber seal 262, a pull section 263 and a rod 264. The rubber seal 262 is connected to an underside of the basket 261 and fixed to the rod 264 on which the pull section 263 is connected.

[0004] When installing the drain assembly 2, the positioning plate 24 is mounted to the cup 21 with the notches in alignment with the protrusions on the cup 21 and the positioning plate 24 is then rotated to let the protrusions support the positioning plate 24. The bolts 241 are then rotated to contact against the urging ring 23 such that the drain assembly 2 is fixed to the sink. Nevertheless, the recesses 214 in the cup 21 trap trash therein and are not easily to remove the trash.

[0005] The present invention intends to provide a drain assembly which is easily to be installed and cleaned.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0006] The present invention relates to a drain assembly which comprises a cup connected to the sink and an extension tube extends from an underside of the cup. A seal and an urging ring are mounted to the cup from the underside of the cup. A positioning plate is fixed to the cup and has a central hole through which the extension tube extends. A plurality of bolts extend through the positioning plate and contact against the urging ring. A filtering seal device is connected to the cup and includes a basket, a rubber seal and a rod which extends through the basket and is connected to the rubber seal. A connector is fixed to the extension tube so as to be connected with a sewage tube. A positioning member is threadedly connected to the extension tube and engaged with the central hole of the positioning plate.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

[0016] Referring to FIGS. 3 and 4, the drain assembly 3 of the present invention comprises a cup 31 including a flange 311 which is connected to the sink 4 and an extension tube 312 extends from an underside of the cup 31. The extension tube 312 has an outer threaded periphery 313 and a bottom plate 314 is connected to a lower end thereof and a plurality of holes 315 are defined through the bottom plate 314 so that water and debris flow through the holes 315. A seal 32 and an urging ring 33 are mounted to the cup 31 from the underside of the cup 31 and located to an underside of the flange 311.

[0017] A positioning plate 35 is fixed to the cup 31 and has a central hole 351 through which the extension tube 312 extends. A plurality of bolts 352 extend through the positioning plate 35 and contact against the urging ring 33.

[0018] A connector 36 is threadedly connected to the extension tube 312 and a positioning ring 361 is connected to an underside of the connector 36 so that the sewage pipe (not shown) can be positioned with the positioning ring 361.

[0019] A filtering seal device 37 is connected to the cup 31 and includes a basket 371, a rubber seal 372 and a rod 373 which extends through the basket 371 and is connected to the rubber seal 372. The rod 273 can be composed of two parts which are threadedly connected with each other. The rod 273 includes a narrow distal end 374 which can be inserted into one of the holes 315 in the center of the bottom plate 314 of the cup 31.
