BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] 1. Field of the Invention

[0002] The present invention relates to a compact device, and more particularly to a compact device including a base receptacle and an upper cover each having an inner member and an outer member for forming a decorative structure.

[0003] 2. Description of the Prior Art

[0004] Typical compact devices or cosmetic casings or vanity cases each comprises a base casing for receiving or carrying cosmetic materials or loose powders therein, and an upper cover pivotally attached to the base casing, for enclosing the base casing, and for stably retaining the cosmetic materials or loose powders within the base casing.

[0005] For example, U.S. Pat. No. 2,041,260 to Morrison, and U.S. Pat. No. 2,468,161 to Beseke disclose two of the typical compact devices or cosmetic casings each also comprising a base casing having a number of compartments formed therein for receiving or carrying cosmetic materials or loose powders therein, and an upper cover pivotally attached to the base casing.

[0006] Normally, the base casing and the upper cover are made of a single layer of plastic or metal or other materials, and may have a single color formed or provided or applied on the outer peripheral portion thereof, such that the base casing and the upper cover of the typical compact devices or cosmetic casings may not have beautiful and decorative structures or outer contours.

[0007] The present invention has arisen to mitigate and/or obviate the afore-described disadvantages of the conventional compact devices or cosmetic casings.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0008] The primary objective of the present invention is to provide a compact device including a base receptacle and an upper cover each having an inner member and an outer member for forming a decorative structure.

[0009] In accordance with one aspect of the invention, there is provided a compact device comprising a base receptacle including an inner casing having at least one compartment formed therein for carrying cosmetic materials therein, and an outer casing welded and secured to the inner casing and having a first engaging member provided thereon, and an upper cover including an outer cover member and an inner cover member welded together, and including a second engaging member provided thereon, for engaging with the first engaging member of the base receptacle, and for openably locking the upper cover and the base receptacle together. The inner casing and the outer casing of the base receptacle may be solidly welded and secured together to form a one integral piece, and the outer cover member and the inner cover member of the upper cover may also be solidly welded and secured together to form a one integral piece.

[0010] The outer cover member of the upper cover is preferably made of transparent materials, to allow the colors or patterns or shapes or words or marks of the inner cover member to be seen through the outer cover member.

[0011] The outer cover member of the upper cover includes at least one groove formed therein, and the inner cover member includes at least one projection extended therefrom, for engaging into the groove of the outer cover member, and for anchoring and securing the inner cover member and the outer cover member together. The inner cover member of the upper cover includes a peripheral panel extended outwardly therefrom, and having the projection extended from the peripheral panel.

[0012] The outer casing of the base receptacle includes a first housing member having a chamber formed therein, and a second housing member disposed on the first housing member and having a chamber formed therein and aligned with the chamber of the first housing member for receiving the inner casing.

[0013] The first housing member includes a peripheral rib extended therefrom, the second housing member includes a peripheral recess formed therein, for receiving the peripheral rib of the first housing member, and for anchoring and securing the first and the second housing members together.

[0014] The first housing member is made of transparent materials, to allow the colors or patterns or shapes or words or marks of the inner casing of the base receptacle to be seen through the first housing member. The second housing member includes a peripheral rib extended therefrom, the inner casing includes an peripheral flange extended therefrom, for engaging and seating on the peripheral rib of the second housing member.

[0015] Further objectives and advantages of the present invention will become apparent from a careful reading of the detailed description provided hereinbelow, with appropriate reference to the accompanying drawings.
