Abstract: A cryosurgical system having a coupler for connecting a disposable cryoprobe end portion to a non-disposable cryoprobe base portion. A cryoprobe can include a disposable portion that connects via a coupler to a non-disposable portion that is permanently attached to the cryosurgical system. Once a disposable portion is attached to the cryosurgical system, refrigerant can be circulated through the system and a cryothermal treatment can be performed. Upon completion of the cryosurgical treatment, the disposable portion can be detached and discarded. (end of abstract)
