Club stand

USPTO Application #: 20080070714
Title: Club stand
Abstract: A golf club stand made from one piece of round rod that sticks into the ground providing many services. The stand can be used for many purposes, the device will hold up to 8 plus clubs along with the flag stick, the device will hold a wet towel and club covers. The device can be used during many instances such as when carts are not allowed in the fairway during winter months and you need to take three or more clubs, when the grass is wet and you do not want to get your grips wet, when you have to take multiple clubs to the green for a chip or sand shot, when you have a bad back and do not want to bend over, when you go to the driving range during a tournament and you take four or five clubs as you can not take your entire bag. With this device and the way you stick it into the ground you can virtually hang everything on the stand during your time on the green and not have to bend over to pick up any equipment including the flag during your trip to the green. This is a very simple device that provides many services during a round of golf and will last forever if kept in the bag with the putter. The device also helps prevent club loss where you leave a club on the edge of a green or in the grass outside the green to later discover you left it and have to go back to find it or replace it. (end of abstract)

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001]This invention design is for a golf club stand that will hold multiple clubs, towels and the flag stick. It also was designed to hold the club covers so at anytime during a round of golf you do not have to bend over to pick up clubs. Note that it fits in the bag with your putter without noticing it.

[0002]The design has multiple uses, to keep your grips from getting wet during a moist morning, on the driving range when you take just a few clubs to warm up, when you can not take the cart into the fairway and need more than one club, and mostly used today around the green for a sand shot and or for a quick up and down you can bring multiple clubs and a wet towel to the green and never bend over except to pick that birdie up out of the hole!

[0003]This invention is a bit different from most as it is easy to carry and no devices to open up a second or third leg to stabilize the stand, this device pokes into the ground and has a lip on the end of it to hold club covers and or wet towels to clean the balls and clubs. It is designed so when you grab your putter you grab The Club Stand at the same time you grab your putter.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0004]The invention is a 1/4 Inch rod bent with three 90 degree bends and one 15 degree bend with a pointed bottom that sticks in the ground. The device is made so as to where you can lean up to 8 golf clubs on the stand and a flag stick along with a wet towel. It is designed with no moving parts or extra extending legs and is one simple rod that goes into the ground without any problem and can hold several clubs to keep one from bending over to get their clubs, leaving their clubs, getting the grips wet on a moist damp morning and can be used at the driving range, in the fairway when carts are not allowed in the fairway during winter months, and around the green or in the sand, it is a tool that is used on almost every hole.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0005]FIG. 1: is a 2D ISO drawing from the side describing the bends and base product, where the opening is on top is where the golf club handles will rest. The 15 degree upward bend at the end of the 90 degree bends is where the towel and club covers go. The bottom is pointed and sticks into the ground.

[0006]FIG. 2: is an Auto Cad drawing with dimensions, it is a simple device and not a lot of drawings are required.

[0007]Note: there are example pictures also attached for viewing.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

[0008]Referring first to FIG. 1: A portable Golf Club Stand to be the first preferred embodiment of the invention includes the base product 0.25 round rod hot rolled zinc coated or stainless steel 36 inches In length. There are 3--90 degree bends at the top of the rod the first one bent back 90 degrees from vertical to horizontal at 28 inches from the bottom of the rod. The second bend in document one design is bent to the left at a 90 degree angle still horizontal 3 inches from bend one. The third bend is to the left 4 inches from the second bend in document one design one, again at a 90 degree angle in a horizontal fashion. The last bend leaves 3 inches to the end of the rod and the bends develop a square U shape which is where the clubs lean. The last and final bend is at the end of bend three, 0.5 inches from the end of the rod and is bent upward at a 15 degree bend to hold the wet towel and also hold club head covers.
