Boot for a skate

USPTO Application #: 20060037216
Title: Boot for a skate
Abstract: A boot for a skate has a shoe frame and a shoe sheath. The shoe frame has a heel shank and an insole. The shoe sheath is mounted on the shoe frame and has a sidewall, an internal soft pad and a leather upper cover. The sidewall has an internal chamber. The internal soft pad is made of resilient material and has multiple air vents defined through the internal soft pad. The air vents improve the ventilation of the sidewall to make a sole of a foot inside the sidewall feel comfortable without sweating easily and also keep the sole from becoming unhealthy. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] 1. Field of the Invention

[0002] The present invention relates to a boot, and more particularly to a boot for a skate.

[0003] 2. Description of Related Art

[0004] People usually skate at a rink or ice rink with a pair of skates. A skate has a boot and a skating blade or multiple wheels mounted to the bottom of the boot.

[0005] A conventional boot for a skate has a shoe frame, a shoe sheath, a sidewall and a leather upper cover.

[0006] The shoe frame is made of rigid material such as plastic or metal, can be assembled with a skating blade or multiple wheels and has an inner top surface, a heel shank and an insole. The heel shank is mounted on the inner top surface of the shoe. The insole is made of soft material and is attached detachably to the heel shank.

[0007] The shoe sheath is mounted on the inner top surface of the shoe frame and has a sidewall and a leather upper cover. The sidewall is made of fabric, is mounted to the inner top surface of the shoe sheath and has a top opening, a bottom opening edge and an outer half surface. The top opening allows a sole of a foot to pass into the shoe sheath. The bottom opening edge is mounted to the inner top surface around the heel shank. The leather upper cover is mounted to the outer half surface of the sidewall.

[0008] The act of skating involves significant forces on the sole of the foot, as well problems arising from sweating of the foot. However, the sidewall of the conventional boot has bad ventilation and this causes the foot sole inside the shoe sheath to become excessively damp and sweat more easily. The sole will soon feel uncomfortable and even becomes unhealthy after a period of being enclosed in the conventional boot.

[0009] To overcome the shortcomings, the present invention provides a boot for a skate to mitigate or obviate the aforementioned problems.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0010] The main objective of the invention is to provide a boot for a skate that has good ventilation to make a sole of a foot inside the boot feel comfortable and keep the sole from becoming unhealthy.

[0011] The boot for a skate in accordance with the present invention comprises a shoe frame and a shoe sheath. The shoe frame has a heel shank and an insole. The shoe sheath is mounted on the shoe frame and has a sidewall, an internal soft pad and a leather upper cover.

[0012] Other objectives, advantages and novel features of the invention will become more apparent from the following detailed description when taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0013] FIG. 1 is side view in partial cross section of a boot for a skate in accordance with the present invention;

[0014] FIG. 2 is a top sectional view of the boot in FIG. 1; and

[0015] FIG. 3 is a perspective view of the internal soft pad of the boot in FIG. 1.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

[0016] With reference to FIGS. 1 and 2, a boot for a skate in accordance with the present invention is assembled with a wheel frame (90) having multiple wheels (91) to be a skate for a rink. The boot for a skate in accordance with the present invention can also be assembled with a skating blade (not shown) to be an ice skate for an ice rink.

[0017] The boot for a skate in accordance with the present invention comprises a shoe frame (10) and a shoe sheath (20).

[0018] The shoe frame (10) is made of rigid material such as plastic or metal, and has a bottom, an inner top surface, a heel shank (11) and an insole (12). The bottom is mounted to the wheel frame (90). The heel shank (11) is mounted on the inner top surface. The insole (12) is made of soft material, is attached detachably to the heel shank (11) and has a top surface and an optional antibiotic coating (121). The optional antibiotic coating (121) is made of titanium dioxide (TiO.sub.2) photocatalysis or zinc oxide (ZnO) photocatalysis and is attached-to the top surface of the insole (12). The TiO.sub.2 (ZnO) photocatalysis has TiO.sub.2 (ZnO) nano-particles to absorb ultraviolet (UV) and react with hydrogen oxide (H.sub.2O) in the air to generate hydroxyl radical to decompose germs and deodorize a sole.

[0019] The shoe sheath (20) is mounted on the inner top surface of the shoe frame (10) and has a sidewall (21), an internal soft pad (22) and a leather upper cover(23).

[0020] The sidewall (21) is hollow, is made of fabric and is mounted on the inner top surface around the heel shank (11) of the shoe frame (10). The sidewall (21) has a top opening, a bottom opening edge, an outer part surface, an inner part surface, a wearing cavity (218), an internal chamber (219) and an optional antibiotic coating (211). The bottom opening edge is mounted to the inner top surface around the heel shank (11). The wearing cavity (218) is formed inside the inner part surface and allows insertion of a sole of a foot. The internal chamber (219) is formed inside the sidewall (21). The optional antibiotic coating (211) is made of titanium dioxide (TiO.sub.2) photocatalysis or zinc oxide (ZnO) photocatalysis and is attached to the inner part surface of the sidewall (21). The TiO.sub.2 (ZnO) photocatalysis has TiO.sub.2 (ZnO) nano-particles to absorb ultraviolet (UV) and react with hydrogen oxide (H.sub.2O) in the air to generate hydroxyl radical to decompose germs and deodorize a sole inside the sidewall.
