Baseball bat structure

USPTO Application #: 20070072710
Title: Baseball bat structure
Abstract: A baseball bat structure comprises a baseball bat made up of a core layer and an enveloping layer bound outside the core layer thereof wherein the core layer is composed of a plurality of square central bodies securely glued together and concentrically arranged in rectangular array with each perpendicularly adjacent to the other thereof, and the enveloping layer is assembled by a plurality of force-applied bodies that are lengthwise applied to fasten via glue onto the central bodies thereof. Via the aforementioned structure, the baseball bat can facilitate an all-around performance of a batter. (end of abstract)

RELATED APPLICATIONS

[0001] This application is a Continuation In Part of application Ser. No. 11/236,675, filed on Sep. 28, 2005 and presently pending.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0002] The present invention is related to a baseball bat structure, comprising a baseball bat made up of a core layer and an enveloping layer wherein the core layer is composed of a plurality of central bodies securely glued together and arranged concentrically in rectangular array with each perpendicularly adjacent to the other thereof, and the enveloping layer has a plurality of force-applied bodies lengthwise bound onto the central bodies thereof so as to reinforce the anti-vibration and attachment capabilities of the baseball bat as a whole thereby, permitting an all-around performance of a batter without the risk of breaking a batting section or a handle section of the baseball bat to achieve the best application state thereof.

[0003] Please refer to FIG. 1. A conventional baseball bat structure includes a baseball bat 10 made up of a core layer 11 and an enveloping layer 12 wherein the core layer 11 is composed of a plurality of bamboo pieces 111 arranged in pairs and fastened to each other or a plurality of bamboo plates 111' arranged lengthwise and fastened to each other as shown in FIG. 2. The enveloping layer 12 is made up of a plurality of bamboo boards 121 glued to one another and bound lengthwise onto the core layer 11 thereof, which is further processed into the form of a baseball bat 10 having a batting section and a handle section disposed thereon.

[0004] There are some drawbacks to the above mentioned conventional baseball bat structure. First, the core layer 11 is bound together in a single direction. To exert the best performance thereof, a batter must pay special attention to the position of batting, which can get in the way and distract the batter failing to hit a pitched ball all-around as desired. Second, the core layer 11 cannot efficiently bear the extra force of impact and features a poor resistance to vibration, which can cause damages to the batter and make the handle section of the baseball bat easy to break in application thereof.

SUMMARY OF THE PRESENT INVENTION

[0005] It is, therefore, the primary purpose of the present invention to provide a baseball bat structure, comprising a baseball bat made up of a core layer and an enveloping layer wherein the core layer is composed of a plurality of central bodies that, perpendicularly adjacent to each other and securely bound together, can build up a strength to uniformly absorb the extra vibrating force thereof so as to reinforce the overall anti-vibration capability of the baseball bat as well as to protect a batter thereby. In addition, the fabricated baseball bat has a handle section equipped with better resistance in the exertion of force to avoid the danger of breakage thereof, permitting a versatile and more durable application of the present invention thereof.

[0006] It is, therefore, the second purpose of the present invention to provide a baseball bat structure wherein the enveloping layer thereof has a plurality of force-applied bodies arranged lengthwise and bound onto the central bodies perpendicularly glued to each other so that a batting section of the baseball bat can bear larger batting force to allow an all-around performance of the batter as desired.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0007] FIG. 1 is an assembled perspective view of a conventional baseball bat structure.

[0008] FIG. 2 is a flat and cross sectional view of another conventional baseball bat structure.

[0009] FIG. 3 is an assembled partial and perspective view of the present invention.

[0010] FIG. 4 is a flat and cross sectional view of the present invention taken in a crosswise direction.

[0011] FIG. 5 is a flat and cross sectional view of the present invention taken in a lengthwise direction.

[0012] FIG. 6 is an assembled partial and perspective view of another embodiment of the present invention.

[0013] FIG. 7 is a flat and cross sectional view of another embodiment of the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0014] Please refer to FIG. 3 showing a perspective view of the present invention (accompanied by FIG. 4). The present invention is related to a baseball bat structure, comprising a baseball bat 20 made up of a core layer 21 and an enveloping layer 22 wherein the core layer 21 is composed of a plurality of square central bodies 211 securely glued together and concentrically arranged in rectangular array with each perpendicularly adjacent to the other thereof. The central body 211 is made up of a plurality of bamboo pieces 2111 bound together via glue and shaped in rectangular bar-like pieces. The enveloping layer 22 is assembled by a plurality of force-applied bodies 221 each made up of a plurality of bamboo plates 2211 bound together via glue and shaped in rectangular bar-like plates.

[0015] In assembly, the multiple force-applied bodies 221 of the enveloping layer 22 are lengthwise applied to fasten via glue onto the core layer 21, and then processed into the form of the baseball bat 20 having a handle section 23 and batting section 24, permitting the handle section 23 (referring to FIG. 5) to provide with the structure of the core layer 21 and the other sections thereof to equip with the structure of the enveloping layer 22 securely bound outside the core layer 21 thereof.

[0016] In application, when the pitched object contacts with the batting section 24 of the baseball bat 20 with an impact force generated thereby, the strain formed by the lengthwise arranged force-applied bodied 221 allows the batting section 23 thereof to bear larger hitting force and makes a batter to easily exert the baseball bat 20 in an all-around performance. In addition, the central bodies 211 perpendicularly arranged and securely bound together can build up a strength to uniformly absorb the extra vibrating force, reinforcing the anti-vibration capability of the baseball bat 20 as a whole so as to protect the batter thereby. Furthermore, in application of force, the handle section 24 is equipped with better resistance to avoid the risk of breakage so that the batter can freely exert the baseball bat 20 as desired.

[0017] Please refer to FIG. 6 (accompanied by FIG. 7). The force-applied bodies 221 of the enveloping layer 22 can also be made up of a plurality of rectangular bar shaped wooden boards 2212, which are further processed into the form of the baseball bat 20 thereof. And, the wooden boards 2212 are originally equipped with better strength to reinforce the baseball bat 20 thereby.
