Air barrel of air compressor

USPTO Application #: 20070086900
Title: Air barrel of air compressor
Abstract: An air barrel of an air compressor comprises a barrier body; and a plurality of rising air chambers and a plurality of descending air chambers located within the barrier body; wherein the plurality of rising air chambers and the plurality of descending air chambers are connected alternatively; an air inlet installed at a first descending air chamber; an air outlet installed at a last rising air chamber. Air flows from an air compressor to the air inlet so as to flow through the plurality of descending air chambers and the plurality of rising air chambers to flow out from the air outlet. Thus water vapor in the air will condense at a bottom of the barrier body. A bottom of the barrier body has at least one water draining valve for draining condensed water. The temperature of air is decreased as flowing from the air inlet to the outlet. (end of abstract)

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

[0001] The present invention relates to an air barrel of an air compressor, wherein air flows from an air compressor to an air inlet so as to flow through a plurality of descending air chambers and a plurality of rising air chambers to flow out from the air outlet; thus water vapor in the air will condense at a bottom of the barrier body. The temperature of air is decreased from the air inlet to an air outlet.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0002] Wind is frequently used as power source for driving many machines. Generally, air is driven by an air compressor to the machines. Air contains vapors which are harmful to the machines as used for a longer time. Since this will induce short circuit or rust in the tools. As a result the machines will be destroyed or fire accidents occur. Thereby the operations of the machines will increase the temperature thereof. It is necessary to reduce the temperature of the air flowing into the machines.

[0003] Thereby it is necessary to remove the water vapor and decrease the temperature of air from an air compressor to a machine. In one prior art, air from an air compressor flows through a wind barrel, a condenser and a water filer so as to have low temperature and be dried to be supplied to a machine.

[0004] However above-mentioned structure and the process are too complicate. Thereby the cost is high since a wind barrier, a condenser and a water filter are necessary. Thereby this prior art is not practical.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0005] Accordingly, the primary object of the present invention is to provide an air barrel of an air compressor, wherein air flows from an air compressor to the air inlet so as to flow through a plurality of descending air chambers and a plurality of rising air chambers to flow out from the air outlet; thus water vapor in the air will condense at a bottom of the barrier body. The temperature of air is decreased from the air inlet to the outlet.

[0006] To achieve above objects, the present invention provides an air barrel of an air compressor which comprises a barrier body; a plurality of rising air chambers located within the barrier body; a plurality of descending air chambers located within the barrier body. The plurality of rising air chambers and the plurality of descending air chambers are connected alternatively; an air inlet installed at a first descending air chamber; an air outlet installed at a last rising air chamber. Air flows from an air compressor to the air inlet so as to flow through the plurality of descending air chambers and the plurality of rising air chambers to flow out from the air outlet; thus water vapor in the air will condense at a bottom of the barrier body. A bottom of the barrier body has at least one water draining valve for draining condensed water. The temperature of air is decreased from the air inlet to the outlet.

[0007] The various objects and advantages of the present invention will be more readily understood from the following detailed description when read in conjunction with the appended drawing.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0008] FIG. 1 is a perspective view about the air barrel of an air compressor of the present invention.

[0009] FIG. 2 is a lateral schematic view about the air barrel of an air compressor of the present invention.

[0010] FIG. 3 is a schematic view about the structure of the air barrel of an air compressor of the present invention.

[0011] FIG. 4 is a schematic view about the air barrel of an air compressor of the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0012] In order that those skilled in the art can further understand the present invention, a description will be described in the following in details. However, these descriptions and the appended drawings are only used to cause those skilled in the art to understand the objects, features, and characteristics of the present invention, but not to be used to confine the scope and spirit of the present invention defined in the appended claims.

[0013] Referring to FIGS. 1 to 3, the air barrier of an air compressor of the present invention is illustrated. The air barrier has the following elements.

[0014] A first descending air chamber 101 has an air inlet 11 at an upper end thereof. The air inlet 11 is connected to an air compressor (not shown). Thereby air in the air compressor can flow into the barrier body 10 from the air inlet 11 of the first descending air chamber 101.

[0015] A first rising air chamber 103 has a bottom end communicated to the first rising air chamber 103.

[0016] A second descending air chamber 102 has an upper end communicated to an upper end of the first rising air chamber 103.

[0017] A second rising air chamber 104 has a bottom end communicated to a bottom end of the second descending air chamber 102. The second rising air chamber 104 has an air outlet 12 at an upper end thereof for engaging a pneumatic tool or other tools. Thereby air in the air compressor is supplied after processing by the barrier body of the present invention.

[0018] At least one water draining valve 13 is installed at a bottom of the barrier body 10.

[0019] Referring to FIG. 4, the use of the present invention will be described herein. The air inlet 11 of the barrier body 10 is connected to an air compressor for receiving air from the air compressor. Air is guided into the first descending air chamber 101 from the air inlet 11. Then air further flows through the first rising air chamber 103. The rising of the air will decrease the density of the air. As a result, water vapor will condense at the bottoms of the first descending air chamber 101 and the first rising air chamber 103. The water vapor can be drained through the water-draining valve 13. Then air flows to the second descending air chamber 102 and then to the second rising air chamber 104. When the air flows into the second rising air chamber 104 from the second descending air chamber 102, water vapor will condense at the bottoms of the second descending air chamber 102 and second rising air chamber 104 and then drains out from the air valve 13. Then the air flows into other mechanic tool. Thereby the water vapor is filtered out by the barrier body 10 of the present invention and the temperature of the air is descent.
