Vending machines are becoming more and more popular in today\'s busy on-the-go society. The vending machine usually includes a cabinet for receiving goods and a door for cover the cabinet. The cover is rotatably secured to the cabinet by three hinges. The vending machine is constantly restocked to add new goods so that the door is open and closed often. After repeatedly opening and closing the door, the hinges may be damaged because the weight of the cover is very heavy.

Therefore, there is room for improvement within the art.

Many aspects of the embodiments can be better understood with references to the following drawings. The components in the drawings are not necessarily drawn to scale, the emphasis instead being placed upon clearly illustrating the principles of the embodiments. Moreover, in the drawings, like reference numerals designate corresponding parts throughout the several views.

FIG. 1 is an exploded, isometric view of an embodiment of a supporting apparatus and a vending machine.

FIG. 2 is an enlarged view of the circled portion II of FIG. 1.

FIG. 3 is an exploded view of a supporting mechanism of FIG. 1.

FIG. 4 is an assembled view of the supporting mechanism of FIG. 3.

FIG. 5 is a cross-sectional view of FIG. 4, taken along the line V-V.

FIG. 6 is a cross-sectional view of FIG. 4, taken along the line VI-VI.

FIG. 7 is an assembled view of FIG. 1, but with the door open.

FIG. 8 is similar to FIG. 7, but with the door closed.

FIG. 9 is a cross-sectional view of FIG. 8, taken along the line IX-IX.

The disclosure is illustrated by way of example and not by way of limitation in the figures of the accompanying drawings in which like references indicate similar elements. It should be noted that references to “an” or “one” embodiment in this disclosure are not necessarily to the same embodiment, and such references mean at least one.

FIGS. 1-2 show a supporting apparatus in accordance with an embodiment configured to support a door 11 of a vending machine 10. The supporting apparatus includes a supporting mechanism 100, a latch member 70, and a compression spring 80.

Referring to FIGS. 3-5, the supporting mechanism 100 includes a mounting member 20 attached to the door 11, a mounting post 30 secured to the mounting member 20, an actuating member 40 installed on the supporting post 30, a supporting post 50 rotatably secured to the mounting post 30, a supporting wheel 60 secured to the supporting post 50. In one embodiment, the actuating member 40 is a torsion spring.

The door 11 includes a cover plate 111 and a flange 113 located on the cover plate 111. The flange 113 is substantially parallel to the cover plate 111. A sliding slot 1131 is defined in the flange 113. The sliding slot 1131 is substantially arc-shaped. A first installation hole 1133 is defined in the flange 113 adjacent to the sliding slot 1131. An installation block 115 is located on an inner side of the flange 113. The installation block 115 includes a first installation piece 1151 and a second installation piece 1153 located on the first installation piece 1151. The second installation piece 1153 is substantially parallel to the flange 113 and perpendicular to the first installation piece 1151. A second installation hole 1155 is defined in the second installation piece 1153, corresponding to the first installation hole 1133.
