Retractable pocket security device facilitating attachable utility pockets   

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1) Technical Field

The device relates to pocket security devices specifically designed to ensure the retention of pocket contents against lost or unauthorized removal. Device is reversible or retractable when disengaged from security position or covering mouth of pocket. Button/snap/Velcro attachments allow the addition of utility pockets to attach above said pocket or pockets in the case of utility belt.

2) Description of Prior Act

In U.S. Pat. No. 6,760,926 an elastic strip is permanently attached over the mouth of a pocket to retain contents.

In U.S. Pat. No. 4,716,600 a pocket loss prevention guard or substance having a high affinity for or a high frictional engagement with the article to be protected, such as a wallet, to prevent the article from slipping by the insert.

Such devices are not reversible stored and therefore lack the functionality offered in the Retractable security device described herein. Furthermore. the addition of the front and back face attachments allows the attachment of utility pockets to the garment itself.

SUMMARY

Recognizing a need for optional and increased pocket security, the retractable security pocket described herein represents an improved apparatus for retaining the contents of pockets against loss or unauthorized removal. Applicable to zippered and non zippered pockets, the device offers the wearer the ability to attach a security flab covering the mouth of pocket for added security when needed. Further offering the wearer the option to retract or reverse the device and store said device in the rear of the garment when so chosen attached to the button/snap/Velcro rear attachments

Due to the Button/snap/Velcro attachments utilized en the Retractable security device, it becomes possible to attach utility pockets directly to garment. These optional pockets allow added functionality to pants and can be attached to either left side or right side retractable security device attachments depending on the wearers preference. They affix above the retractable security device when in either the front/security position or the rear/storage position

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

Referring now to FIG. 1, the retractable pocket security device is represented by #3. It is stitched into front face and back face seam #1 and secured by stitch #8. Shown in these figures with buttons attachments. #4 and #5 can be snaps or Velcro Retractable security device #3 is affixed to front face in security/front position by Button #4 and covers pocket #2 and pocket mouth #7. LEFT SIDE/Left hip Button #4 is located to the left of pocket #2 and Button #5 is located to the right of seam #1 and to the left of left rear pocket #6. RIGHT SIDE/Right hip Button #4 is located to the right of pocket #2 and Button #5 is located to the right of seam #1 and to the right of right rear pocket #6.

Referring now to FIG. 2, retractable security pocket device #3 attached to button #5 is retracted and shown in the rear/storage position. Pocket #2 and pocket mouth #7 are uncovered and normal pocket use achieved.

Referring now to FIG. 3, retractable security pocket device #/3 extends over pocket #2 and pocket mouth #7 show on a LEFT SIDE VIEW. Attachments #9 and #10 are added to affix retractable security device #3 representing a two point closure setup in this case using buttons. Snaps or Velcro can also be employed. In the front/security position attachment #4 and #9 are used. Security device #3 once retracted uses attachment #5 and #10 in the rear/storage position.

Referring now to FIG. 4, utility pockets are represented attached over Retractable security device #3 here shown in the rear/storage position on the LEFT SIDE/Left Hip side of garment (device #3 can also be in the front/security position). Buttons #4 & #5 secure to wings #10 & #11 made out of fabric or other material with button holes #8 and #9 (attachments again can be buttons, snaps or Velcro). Utility pocket #1 is a representation of a bottle holder formed by two pieces of rectangular or other shaped fabric or other material #12 & #13 stitched together on three sides by stitch #14 thereby attaching wings #10 & #11 leaving the top opened to hold bottles of various sizes. Utility pocket #2 (closed) and #2a (opened) is a representation of a camera/video camera holder. Material #15 & #16 and wing #10 & #11 are stitched using stitch #20. Button holes #8 & #9 connect wing #10 & #11 to garment using buttons # 4 & #5 (buttons are used in this case but snaps or Velcro can be used). Cover flap material #17 is attached to material #16 with stitch #21. Snap #18/#19 used to affix cover flap material #17 (snaps/button/Velcro can be used). Utility belt #7 is a representation of how the individual pockets can be combined to form a larger utility group. Button holes #8 on wing #10 and button hole #9 on wing #11 attach to buttons #4 and #5 respective to LEFT SIDE in Figures #1-3 and RIGHT SIDE in Figures #1&2

Having thus described in detail a preferred embodiment of the present invention, it is to be appreciated and will be apparent to those skilled in the art that many physical changes could be made in the Retractable Pocket Security Device Facilitating Attachable Utility Pockets without altering the inventive concepts and principles embodied therein. The present embodiment is therefore to be considered in all respects as illustrative and not restrictive, the scope of the invention being indicated by the appended claims and description, and all changes which come within the meaning and range of equivalency of the claims are therefore to be embraced therein.
