Prophesy coins game

USPTO Application #: 20090250871
Title: Prophesy coins game
Abstract: The Prophesy Coins Game is a unique fortune telling game consisting of eight numbered Prophesy Coins that are obtained randomly from a unique Prophesy Coins Container/Dispenser and used as positional and rotational identifiers to place and orient eight randomly selected tarot cards, from a standard 78 card tarot deck, into eight prognosticative data location sites on a game board. A psychic reading is formulated from the context of each of the eight selected tarot cards relating their meaning and orientation with their positional game-board-data inscriptions with reference to the query. BACKGROUND OF INVENTION

The invention relates generally to a fortune telling game and particularly to a game having a board with eight prognosticative card sites utilizing eight Prophesy Coins as positional and rotational identifiers and used in conjunction with any style deck or decks of tarot cards to obtain a psychic reading for fun and entertainment.

The following patents U.S. Pat. No. 5,499,818 issued to Allal (1995), and U.S. Pat. No. 6,460,852 issued to Tallian (2002) both have a game board with specific locations and a set of cards signifying these locations for the placement of other playing cards. However in my game, the eight Prophesy Coins not only identity eight numerical game board location sites for eight selected tarot cards, but also designate how these tarot cards are rotated, which adds a new dimension not offered by any other card game. Each tarot card is placed either right side-up or upside down depending upon whether the Prophesy Coin is dispensed either “Normal” side up or “Reverse” side up respectively. Since the tarot card selection, rotation and placement on the game board are random, a greater number of card permutations are possible thus offering very unique prognosticative readings.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The Prophesy Coins Game is a unique, yet simple fortune telling game played with eight numbered Prophesy Coins, a specially designed Prophesy Coin Dispenser, a pliable fabric game board, and any style of tarot cards for fun and entertainment. This game employs a multi-random card and coin selection process that offers the Querent a unique statistical reading of 1 in 7.25×1012. In step one, a tarot card is randomly chosen from any fortune telling tarot deck. In step two, a Prophesy Coin is obtained at random from the Prophesy Dispenser/Container. The number on the Prophesy Coin designates a corresponding location site on the game board into which the first selected tarot card is now placed. The orientation of this tarot card whether placed right side up or upside down is determined by whether the Prophesy Coin is dispensed with its “Normal” side up or its “Reverse” side up respectively. This procedure is repeated seven more times until all eight tarot cards are successively positioned and oriented on the game board sites. The eight numbered boxed location sites are identified with specific prognosticative inscriptions, and when viewed collectively with their corresponding tarot cards, define a psychic reading unique to the query.

A major advantage of the Prophesy Coins Game is that it can be used with all types of tarot cards, which as a result will yield a reading relative to the theme and style of the deck being used. And to present an even wider cosmic latitude of prophesy for the more advanced students of divination, cards from different tarot decks can be shuffled together and used in combination.

Another benefit of this game is the eight Prophesy Coins, which when dispensed from a uniquely designed Prophesy Coin Dispenser/Container, randomly generates the location site and the orientation for each of the eight tarot cards picked by the Player. No other fortune telling game provides for the rotation of a playing card as the result from a random generated outcome, as is the case in the Prophesy Coins Game. Using this method, the final reading has a statistical probability of 1 in 7.25×1012 which is quite unique. Also since the tarot card in location box No. 1 is also adventitiously selected, neither the Player nor Reader has any control or decision over the “Query” to be analyzed, which improves on the game\'s psychic phenomenon. The Prophesy Coins Game provides hours of fun and entertainment for both the novice students of divination while challenging those prophets with more advanced psychic skills.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

For the purpose of illustrating the invention, there is shown in the drawings a form which is presently preferred; it being understood, however, that this invention is not limited to the precise arrangements and instrumentalities shown.

FIG. 1 is a plan view of the game board of this invention showing the eight outlined numbered locations (22), with their respective prognosticative inscriptions (23), shaped into a letter “A” spread pattern. Also shown are the highlighted, outlined areas for placement of the tarot card deck (20) and the Prophesy Coins Dispenser (21).

FIG. 2 is a view of this invention illustrating the eight numbered Prophesy Coins (30) used as the positional and rotational identifiers for the placement and orientation of the eight randomly selected tarot cards. Each numbered coin ranging from “one” to “eight” is shown with its “Normal” side up (30A), and when flipped over, shown with its “Reverse” side up (30B).

FIG. 3 is a simplified view of an Prophesy Coin Container/Dispenser (40) according to the invention, that is used to house, conceal, mix, and randomly dispenses the eight Prophesy Coins, wherein a false type bottom (41), protruding from one end into the container\'s inner chamber (42), helps mix and separate the Prophesy Coins when said container is shaken by the Player. When the container is tilted with its nozzle (43) side down, the hopper chute (44) funnels the Prophesy Coins into said nozzle such that only one coin (30) can be dispensed laterally from the nozzle spout (45) one at a time.
