What is claimed is:

1. A method comprising: receiving a message associated with a registration event of a device to a communication session, the message including a parameter having information indicative of a location of the device at a time of the registration; and determining whether the location of the device at the time of the registration corresponds to a location where an emergency service dispatch is supportable.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein receiving the message comprises receiving a message associated with a request for registration for an Internet Protocol based communication session.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein receiving the message comprises receiving parameters including an internal address and an external address associated with the device, the parameters being added to the message by a network component monitoring communication related to registration of the device.

4. The method of claim 3, wherein determining whether the location of the device at the time of the registration corresponds to the location where the emergency service dispatch is supportable further comprises comparing the location of the device at the time of the registration with a location of the device at a previous validated registration event.

5. The method of claim 4, wherein comparing the location comprises comparing the external address to a stored external address from the previous validated registration event.

6. The method of claim 4, further comprising suspending a user account associated with the device until the location of the device corresponds to the location where the emergency service dispatch is supportable, if the location of the device at the time of the registration does not correspond with the location where the emergency service dispatch is supportable.

7. The method of claim 3, wherein receiving the message comprises receiving parameters including a time of event associated with detection of the registration event or information indicative of a characteristic of the device.

8. A computer program product comprising at least one computer-readable storage medium having computer-readable program code portions stored therein, the computer-readable program code portions comprising: a first executable portion for receiving a message associated with a registration event of a device to a communication session, the message including a parameter having information indicative of a location of the device at a time of the registration; and a second executable portion for determining whether the location of the device at the time of the registration corresponds to a location where an emergency service dispatch is supportable.

9. The computer program product of claim 8, wherein the first executable portion includes instructions for receiving a message associated with a request for registration for an Internet Protocol based communication session.

10. The computer program product of claim 8, wherein the first executable portion includes instructions for receiving parameters including an internal address and an external address associated with the device, the parameters being added to the message by a network component monitoring communication related to registration of the device.

11. The computer program product of claim 10, wherein the second executable portion includes instructions for comparing the location of the device at the time of the registration with a location of the device at a previous validated registration event.

12. The computer program product of claim 11, wherein the second executable portion includes instructions for comparing the external address to a stored external address from the previous validated registration event.

13. The computer program product of claim 11, further comprising a third executable portion for suspending a user account associated with the device until the location of the device corresponds to the location where the emergency service dispatch is supportable, if the location of the device at the time of the registration does not correspond with the location where the emergency service dispatch is supportable.

14. The computer program product of claim 10, wherein the first executable portion includes instructions for receiving parameters including a time of event associated with detection of the registration event or information indicative of a characteristic of the device.

15. An apparatus including a processor configured to: receive a message associated with a registration event of a device to a communication session, the message including a parameter having information indicative of a location of the device at a time of the registration; and determine whether the location of the device at the time of the registration corresponds to a location where an emergency service dispatch is supportable.

16. The apparatus of claim 15, wherein the processor is further configured to receive a message associated with a request for registration for an Internet Protocol based communication session.

17. The apparatus of claim 15, wherein the processor is further configured to receive parameters including an internal address and an external address associated with the device, the parameters being added to the message by a network component monitoring communication related to registration of the device.

18. The apparatus of claim 17, wherein the processor is further configured to compare the location of the device at the time of the registration with a location of the device at a previous validated registration event.

19. The apparatus of claim 18, wherein the processor is further configured to compare the external address to a stored external address from the previous validated registration event.

20. The apparatus of claim 18, wherein the processor is further configured to suspend a user account associated with the device until the location of the device corresponds to the location where the emergency service dispatch is supportable, if the location of the device at the time of the registration does not correspond with the location where the emergency service dispatch is supportable.

21. The apparatus of claim 17, wherein the processor is further configured to receive parameters including a time of event associated with detection of the registration event or information indicative of a characteristic of the device.

22. A method comprising: receiving a message associated with a registration event of a device to a communication session; generating a parameter including information indicative of a location of the device at a time of the registration; and communicating the parameter to a network device for use in determining whether the location of the device at the time of the registration corresponds to a location where an emergency service dispatch is supportable.

23. The method of claim 22, wherein generating the parameter comprises generating parameters including an internal address and an external address associated with the device, a time of event associated with detection of the registration event, and information indicative of a characteristic of the device.

24. An apparatus comprising a processor configured to: receive a message associated with a registration event of a device to a communication session; generate a parameter including information indicative of a location of the device at a time of the registration; and communicate the parameter to a network device for use in determining whether the location of the device at the time of the registration corresponds to a location where an emergency service dispatch is supportable.

25. The apparatus of claim 24, wherein the processor is further configured to generate parameters including an internal address and an external address associated with the device, a time of event associated with detection of the registration event, and information indicative of a characteristic of the device.
