Abstract: A dual-purpose dumbbell has a bar, two weights and two adjusting assemblies. The bar has two ends. The two weights are mounted rotatably respectively on the ends of the bar and can be configured longitudinally or transversely relative to the bar. The adjusting assemblies are mounted respectively between the ends of the bar and the weights to allow the weights rotated relative to the bar. When the weights are configured longitudinally, the dual-purpose dumbbell is used as a dumbbell or a weighted baton. When the weights of the dual-purpose dumbbell are configured transversely, the dual-purpose dumbbell can be used as a handle for doing pushups. Since the dual-purpose dumbbell can be used as a dumbbell, a weighted baton and a handle for use when doing pushups, less space is required to store exercise equipment and less cost is incurred to procure the exercise equipment. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a dual-purpose dumbbell and especially to a dual-purpose dumbbell that can be used in different exercises.

2. Description of the Prior Arts

Most sports appliances have a single use. If a person wants to do different exercises, different sports appliances are required, which cost more money and requires more space for storage.

To overcome the shortcomings, the present invention provides a dual-purpose dumbbell to mitigate or obviate the aforementioned problems.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The main objective of the present invention is to provide a dual-purpose dumbbell that can be used as a conventional weight or a handle for pushups.

A dual-purpose dumbbell in accordance with the present invention has a bar, two weights and two adjusting assemblies. The bar has two ends. The two weights are mounted rotatably respectively on the ends of the bar and can be configured longitudinally or transversely relative to the bar. The adjusting assemblies are mounted respectively between the ends of the bar and the weights to allow the weights rotated relative to the bar. When the weights are configured longitudinally, the dual-purpose dumbbell is used as a conventional dumbbell or a weighted baton. When the weights of the dual-purpose dumbbell are configured transversely, the dual-purpose dumbbell can be used as a handle for doing pushups. Since the dual-purpose dumbbell can be used as a conventional dumbbell, a weighted baton and a handle for use when doing pushups, less space is required to store exercise equipment and less cost is incurred to procure the exercise equipment.

Other objectives, advantages and novel features of the invention will become more apparent from the following detailed description when taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.
