1. Field of the Invention

This invention relates generally to golf swing training clubs. More particularly, this device relates to golf swing training clubs incorporating various features designed to help golfers improve their visual concentration and increase hand-eye coordination that will help drive the ball to the desired line of flight.

2. Description of Related Art

Golf is one of the world's most popular sports. It can be frustrating for most people who are lacking the necessary skills to make it more enjoyable. There are many videos, books, and training apparatuses on the market that seem to focus too much on the mechanics of making “the perfect swing”. Everybody swings a golf club differently, even professionals. Most people are too concerned with swing mechanics that they forget about the most important aspect of golf, making solid contact with the golf ball.

To my knowledge, the only golf swing training club that relates to this invention is the Powerstik (Provisional Patent Application No. 60/300,785). The Powerstik lacks a flat club head face and thus cannot be used to sufficiently hit golf balls. The inventor, George W. Rodgers, has even stated that it is not to be used to hit actual golf balls, it is for swinging practice only.

In the present invention, the golf swing training club enables a golfer to drastically increase their hand-eye coordination, visual concentration, strength and flexibility without having to worry about making “the perfect swing”. The golf club is comprised of a standard rubber golf grip, a cylindrical steel shaft extending to an end point hosel, and a club head extending radially outward.

The club head for this invention is the same diameter as the minimum required size of a golf ball as enforced by the United States Golf Association. The club head is comprised of a weighted, conical golf club head with a flat face that when used during a swing, causes the golfer to visually focus only on the impact zone of the golf ball which increases hand-eye coordination and visual concentration. The weight of the club head, which is 16 ounces, when used repeatedly, stretches and strengthens the muscles used for golf. The club is designed to assist any golfer to learn the correct fluid motion of a powerful, well-executed full swing, and also works to correct common swinging flaws. It gives a beginning golfer an easy way to learn the true feeling and correct motion of a good golf swing, and also strengthens the muscles used for golf. Finally, it is ideal to use during warm-up, since it tones and stretches the golfing muscles as it helps the golfer regain the feel of a proper swing, which is necessary for good golf play. To my knowledge, the said invention is the only golf swing training club that has a miniature club head that is the same diameter of a required USGA golf ball. As stated above, the size of the club head leads to the increase in hand-eye coordination and visual concentration while practicing hitting golf balls.
